Terms and Conditions of Sale
1. Scope
These Terms and Conditions of Sale apply, without restriction, to all sales concluded by Backgammon House ("the Seller") with consumers ("the Customer") purchasing products offered on backgammonhouse.co.uk ("the Products"). They govern ordering, payment, delivery, and returns.
These Terms apply to the exclusion of any other conditions and are available at any time on backgammonhouse.co.uk. The version applicable to a purchase is the one in force on the site at the date the order is placed.
2. Products
Backgammon House sells backgammon sets and related accessories. Product photographs and illustrations on the site are for information only and are not contractually binding. The Customer should refer to each product description for its features and delivery details. Contractual information is presented in English.
3. Availability
Offers are valid while stocks last, as indicated at the time of order.

In accordance with data protection law (UK GDPR), the Customer may at any time access, rectify, object to, erase, or request the transfer of their personal data by contacting the Seller in writing.
Placing an order constitutes full and unconditional acceptance of these Terms. The Customer confirms they have the legal capacity to enter into this contract.
5. Orders
5.1 Placing an Order
The Customer selects the products they wish to order on the site, checks the order details and total price, and confirms the order after accepting these Terms. The sale is concluded once the Seller sends an email confirming acceptance of the order, following receipt of full payment.
The Seller reserves the right to cancel or refuse any order from a Customer with whom a payment dispute exists, or any order for quantities exceeding 100 units of the same product, as products are sold to consumers for personal use only.
5.2 Modifying an Order
Any modification requested by the Customer will only be considered within the Seller's capabilities, and must be notified by email to contact@backgammonhouse.co.uk at least 1 day before the planned shipping date. If a requested change cannot be accepted, sums already paid will be refunded within 30 days.
5.3 Cancelling an Order
Orders may be cancelled by the Customer, outside the right of withdrawal or cases of force majeure, at least 1 day before the planned delivery date, at no cost to the Customer.
6. Prices
Products are sold at the prices shown on backgammonhouse.co.uk at the time the order is placed, expressed in GBP, inclusive of all taxes and delivery costs. Prices are firm during their period of validity; the Seller reserves the right to change prices at any time thereafter.
7. Payment
Payment is due in full at the time of order, by secure payment methods including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, PayPal, and Klarna. Card payments are irrevocable except in cases of fraudulent use, in which case the Customer may request cancellation and reimbursement.
8. Delivery
Products are delivered within the UK.
Processing time before shipment: 1 to 2 business days
Transit time after shipment: 5 to 8 business days
Total estimated delivery time: 6 to 10 business days
These timeframes are indicative. If a Product has not been delivered within 30 days of the indicative delivery date, for any reason other than force majeure or the Customer's fault, the Customer may request cancellation of the sale in writing. Any sums paid will then be refunded within 14 days.
The Seller bears the risk of transport and will reimburse the Customer for any damage occurring during delivery.
9. Transfer of Ownership and Risk
Ownership of the Products transfers to the Customer only once full payment has been received, regardless of the delivery date. Risk of loss or damage transfers only when the Customer takes physical possession of the Products; Products therefore travel at the Seller's risk.
10. Right of Withdrawal
The Customer has 30 days from receipt of a Product to exercise their right of withdrawal, without giving reasons, in order to obtain an exchange or refund, provided the Product is returned in its original packaging and in perfect condition within 30 days of notifying the Seller.
Returns must be complete (packaging, accessories, documentation) so the item can be resold as new, and accompanied by proof of purchase. Damaged, dirty, or incomplete items will not be accepted.
The right of withdrawal may be exercised by contacting contact@backgammonhouse.co.uk before returning any item. The Seller's customer service will then provide appropriate return instructions.
Where the right of withdrawal is exercised within the above timeframe, the price of the Product(s) and the original delivery costs will be refunded. Return shipping costs are covered by the Seller. Refunds are issued within 7 business days of notification of the decision to withdraw.
11. Seller Liability and Warranty
Products sold on backgammonhouse.co.uk comply with applicable UK regulations and are suitable for non-professional use. Independently of the right of withdrawal, Products benefit from:
the legal guarantee of conformity for products that are defective, damaged, or non-compliant with the order; and
the legal guarantee against hidden defects resulting from a material, design, or manufacturing fault.
The Customer benefits from a legal guarantee of conformity for two years from the date of delivery, and may request repair or replacement of the Product. The Customer may alternatively rely on the guarantee against hidden defects and choose between cancellation of the sale or a price reduction.
The Seller will refund or replace Products found to be non-compliant or defective, including original delivery costs, within 30 days of the defect being established.
The Seller's liability does not apply in cases of misuse, professional use, negligence, lack of maintenance, normal wear, accident, or force majeure, or where the Customer has failed to comply with the laws of the delivery country. The Seller's warranty is limited, in all cases, to the replacement or refund of the non-compliant or defective Product.
12. Personal Data Protection
Personal data requested from the Customer is necessary to process orders and issue invoices, and may be shared with partners involved in order fulfilment, processing, and payment. The Customer has an ongoing right of access, rectification, objection, portability, and restriction of processing regarding their data, exercisable under the conditions set out on backgammonhouse.co.uk.
13. Intellectual Property
The content of backgammonhouse.co.uk is the property of the Seller and its partners and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Any reproduction, even partial, is strictly prohibited.
14. Force Majeure
Neither party will be held liable if the non-performance or delayed performance of any of its obligations under these Terms results from a case of force majeure.
15. Governing Law and Language
These Terms and any resulting transactions are governed by the laws applicable to the Seller's business registration, without prejudice to any mandatory statutory rights the Customer may have as a consumer under the laws of their country of residence. Where these Terms have been translated, the English version prevails in the event of dispute.
16. Disputes
Any dispute relating to purchases made under these Terms that cannot be resolved directly between the Seller and the Customer will be submitted to the competent courts under ordinary law. The Customer may also resort to mediation or another form of alternative dispute resolution.
17. Pre-Contractual Information and Acceptance
Placing an order on backgammonhouse.co.uk constitutes full acceptance of these Terms and an obligation to pay for the Products ordered.
